And, many women out there have this entrepreneurial spirit but haven’t taken the leap yet. To actually do so and to know how, we want to hear your story that’ll inspire these women!
Introduce yourself
My name is Sophia, originally from England and lived in Scotland for 8 years. I spent 2 year living in Spain before I moved to Portugal 7 years ago! My background is in art and design. I also have been helping run small and large communities in different sectors over the past years.
What or who inspired you to become a business owner?
I was looking for drawing classes in Cascais and saw there wasn’t any opportunity to do Life Drawing, I personally wanted a place I could meet local artists to network and find time to draw myself.
What product or service do you offer?
Life Drawing Cascais @lifedrawingcascais is a community of people who want to draw. We meet up and draw live nude models once per month in different venues. Some sessions with varied poses and some with longer poses. All skill levels are welcome at our sessions. Our models are always professionals. Some of our regular venues are, Sestante Art Gallery @sestanteartgallery Mujo – movement and wellness. We did an amazing session recently at the gallery of local female artists Gizela @gizela_n and Claudia @claudiafonso_jewellery
What is your company’s mission and your goals?
We will be launching a new series of pop up events over the summer “Drawing Humans in Nature” where we meet to draw each other in beautiful locations around Cascais, fully clothed ;).
How does your service or product help other women?
Our sessions our a safe place for women to come and meet other creatives, if you are new in town or haven’t found the creative crowd yet, this is the place to be!
